What an exciting start to summer around Harvest!!  I have attached the VBS video from KIT that wrapped up last week.  Even with rain and a power failure, we enjoyed the opportunity to teach about 150 kidz our Lord and Savior.  What a great time it was.  If you have not yet checked out the videos from all of these events, visit our Harvest You Tube channel by clicking here and watch them anytime you like.  Try to give us a “Like” if you do while you’re there. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwcAqEVUFj1MMSlrR9myISA

PVC already had VBS in the community park with a sports camp theme, and they had a great week too.  Indiana is in progress with their week now, and Freeport is spacing their VBS out over summer.  By all reports, this should be a banner year.  #Follow had about 40+, 6th and 7th graders a few weeks back.  Lots of exciting stories we could share but the point we all need to know, -the Gospel of Jesus Christ went out – over and over.

Isaiah 55: 10 -11  “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven  and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Looking back over the last couple months since our Harvest Kidz Reaching Higher Summit, things have been continuing to be planned, thought through, and made ready for our Fall kickoff.  We are looking forward to the beginning of September when the Harvest Kidz space has its facelift and offers an engaging environment for all our ministry efforts.  You have a part in the next steps too.  We are needing people that can offer their time and skills to help finish these areas before September.  Each campus has a team working on their environment, and we could use you on those teams.  You can sign the connect card over the next two weeks at our weekend services or email your contact info and skill set to info@harvestpa.org   If you are willing to help any other campuses, let us know that and we will get you connected to their work teams.  This is a great opportunity to meet people from other campuses and see what is going on there too.

Harvest Church and Community swimming party at the Belmont is July 8th.  It is a Saturday from noon till 8pm.  It is completely free, and we encourage you to invite your family and friends and help them to get to know people from Harvest.  All four campuses are invited so you will see people that you may not have seen for a while I’m sure.  We need some people from each campus who can help with setting up the food or setting up some small games for the young ones.   Bring a chair, cooler, sunscreen, blanket and covered dish if you canNo glass please.  Please email bigfredneal@gmail.com if you can be a part of the setup, games, or clean up group.  We plan on eating at 3PM.  We are hoping to have some of our missionary families, that are on home assignment, join us there too if possible.

Don’t forget to pick up a copy of Fall 2017 - Harvest Happenings to help with filling in your calendar.  It is currently available at all four campuses.

I just wanted to let you all know that Pastor Mike continues to grow stronger by the day and is very excited to be preaching almost every week now.  We appreciate your ongoing prayers for him and all our staff - Thank YOU!  Your encouragement is a blessing.

With all this going on, we also have over 50 teens and their leaders serving at Washington City Mission this week.  We pray that they will be challenged and find God faithful in their time serving the needy in southwestern PA.  They are also doing a community outreach for a local church that we have come along side in that area.  It won’t be long until 25 other teens and leaders head to Puerto-Rico for work in that community.  God not only uses these hands and feet to bless those we serve but most often does some heavy lifting in the hearts of those that go too.  Please keep both teams in your prayers.

Your pastoral staff is now planning to pause the Mark sermon series in September and bring a new 12 weeks series entitled – Man, Woman, and God.  This will be time that we can dive into some very important and relevant teaching for our lives today.  Our desire will be to continue to focus on “What does God say… ” Pastor Mike is working on that series now and we look forward to sharing that starting with fall kick-off on Sept 11 & 13th.  I have had several questions regarding when we are going back to finish 1st Timothy.  In January, we will pick up in 1 Timothy where we left off and run with that until we finish the Book.    I am excited to see how God has continued to refine all of us as we study His Word.

Finally, we have added a new feature to our Harvest App.  If you open the App, and click the “MEDIA” tab.  Scroll to the bottom of that section and you will see “Video/Photo Uplink +”.  That link allows you to add any photo or video file that you have captured.  It will say “Deliver files directly to David Lusk”.  That is ok, he has been assigned to review and file the photos and videos in a manner that we can find what we need.  You can upload any photo or video concerning Harvest Ministries or Harvest people in action.  Take and upload as many as you like, it will help us tell the church about what is going on around all our ministries.  Candid photos are best instead of posed when possible.  Give it a try at the next outreach or service.

In His Service,
Bigfred
